Established on the banks of the Tar River in 1818, Rocky Mount Mills (RMM) has reinvented itself time and again. CBC's award-winning renovations coincided with the 200-year anniversary of the mill (the second-oldest existing in the state). The complex features modern offices and loft apartments inside a 220,000 square-foot main mill building, the Power House event center, the Brewmill brewery incubator, the mill village, and a tiny house hotel. The 82-acre campus of this restored cotton mill showcases a bold approach to historic preservation that honors the past while also breathing new life into this storied place. It’s a place to wander, to explore and be surprised — a place to craft your own story.
